NEWCASTLE WINS
EXCITING NEW INITIATIVES
Newcastle NE1 have created the Geordie Jackpot to raise funds for new improvements and events in and around Newcastle, and to enable everyone to take part in the ongoing transformation of the city.
Newcastle NE1 is the Business Improvement District company for Newcastle who deliver a range of popular projects and events including the Quayside Seaside, Newcastle Motor Show, Newcastle Restaurant Week, Screen on the Green and Alive after Five. NE1 will not profit from the lottery proceeds; all monies raised will be spent on new initiatives for the city or donated to charity.
The Grey Street Gathering is the first city centre project paid for by the Geordie Jackpot – this pop-up park will be equipped with large planters incorporating a range of seating, and will provide a green and pleasant space to spend time in the city centre.
SUPPORTING GOOD CAUSES
Geordie Jackpot has selected Cash for Kids as their nominated charity to receive a proportion of the proceeds. Cash for Kids is a local charity, and it is their mission to respond to the needs of children in our communities, and aspire to enable all children to live life to the full and achieve their individual potential. They support local children who are disabled, disadvantaged, sick, or suffering from abuse or neglect, from the ages of 0-18. All the funds for the charity are raised locally, and redistributed locally, to individuals, families and other charities dedicated to improving the lives of young people.
LOW PRICE TICKETS
A ticket for Geordie Jackpot costs £1 per week and 50p will go to support Newcastle, and is open to all UK residents aged 18 and over.
Players can buy as many tickets as they wish every week and can choose their own numbers or select a lucky dip.
There are measures to protect children and vulnerable persons from being harmed or exploited by gambling. Newcastle NE1 Lottery Ltd is also a member of the Lotteries Council and through them contributes to the Responsible Gambling Trust (RGT), the leading charity in the UK committed to minimising gambling-related harm.
